Characterization of snow conditions in Zakopane and the designation of favourable periods for cross country and downhill skiing Charakterystyka warunków śniegowych i wyznaczenie okresów korzystnych do uprawiania narciarstwa biegowego i zjazdowego w Zakopanem Zarys treści: W niniejszym opracowaniu przedstawiono próbę scharakteryzowania warunków śniegowo-narciarskich w Zakopanem. W tym celu wykorzystano dostępne dane codziennych grubości pokrywy śnieżnej dla Zakopanego z okresu 1951-1990. Na podstawie kryteriów T. Łobożewicza obliczono długość trwania i częstość występowania sezonów narciarskich (dla narciarstwa biegowego i zjazdowego). Stwierdzono, że w Zakopanem występuje wyraźne zróżnicowanie warunków śniegowych, co oznacza, że podczas jednego sezonu zimowego może wystąpić kilka sezonów narciarskich. W Zakopanem najlepsze warunki do uprawiania narciarstwa występują z końcem stycznia i w lutym. Słowa kluczowe: pokrywa śnieżna, sezon zimowy, sezon narciarski, Tatry, śnieg narciarski.
